I am inspired by the everyday human potential to do the amazing that exists in each of us. My professional experience has been working with people to overcome the challenges talented individuals have in reaching their potential.
My background has been in mental health and non-profit services since 2003. In the UK, I was registered practitioner Psychologist (HCPC registered), chartered Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, an accredited Cognitive Behaviour Therapy practitioner (BABCP). I was a CBT (Cognitve Behavior Therapy) therapist in the National Health Service in the UK as a Cognitive Behavior Therapist where I remained until I qualified as a Psychologist in 2009. I worked primarily in a private mental health hospital in Central London where my clients were primarily high-performing individuals. My work since then has been to help people overcome the problems and habits that were preventing them from functioning at their peak. This led me to work with athletes and sports teams, primarily weightlifters and CrossFit competitors.
I moved to Texas in 2016 and became licensed as Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas in 2018. I also have privilege of working in fitness where I teach weightlifting, group fitness and indoor cycling classes. For me, being well mentally has been easier when I’m taking care of my physical needs. Beyond that, I found so much inner strength from building athletic skills and abilities – I just love to share that with others! I am a USAW Level 1 Coach and a certified obesity specialist (National Centre for Eating Disorders, UK).
I am experienced in academic and professional writing and have been regularly featured in BoxRox, Europe’s source for CrossFit news and in Bulk Powders Core. My writing follows topics related to health, fitness, performance psychology, body image and wellness.
I compete in Olympic Weightlifting, 71kg, Masters Division. I also spend free time with family, my dog or enjoying exploring all that Texas has to offer!
